Nalimo (name changed) is just one

of approximately 700 children not far from Lake Turkana.

She knows Christmas and she looks forward to it.

But not in the way that children in Europe are looking forward to it.

She is not expecting any gifts.

She will not be holding any Christmas baubles in her hands.

Nothing glitters or sparkles in her home.

She has neither a Christmas tree nor is she expecting a Christmas roast.

Nalimo is simply looking forward to what has always been there.

She is happy to be alive and to have many friends.

She is happy that the baby Jesus is coming.

The village of Kataboi is threatened with sinking into poverty.

The prospects for Nalimo and her many friends are slim, practically nonexistent.

Our Advent and Christmas project aims to...

at least at Christmas to alleviate this misery and suffering.
