About Us
The association Upendoimo e. V. was unofficially active since 2020, but was officially founded as a non-profit association in 2024.
Upendoimo e. V. aims to provide concrete signs of hope for people who have no hope.
Giving hope is more than charity. It's about connection. It's about dialogue. It's about being on a shared journey and growing together.
Hope needs concrete actions and gestures, which in turn require concrete people.
"For us Christians, the question of the poor leads to the essence of our faith." (pp. Leo XIV, Dilexi te, 110). Jesus' clear words at the end of his parable of the Good Samaritan: "Go and do likewise" (Luke 10:37) call upon us not to look away, but to look towards them and to set concrete signs of hope and love (in Swahili: Upendo).

"Sharing love and bringing hope to people": that is the guiding principle of our actions at Upendoimo e. V.
As long as there is undeserved suffering in the world, initiatives like ours are indispensable, and helping people in need is one of humanity's essential tasks.
